ASSESSMENT

In the private sector, Calyptus Consulting Group, Inc. has conducted organizational assessments across varied industries. Our expertise enables us to assess your practices using a broad range of industry standards and models that can be tailored to your specific industry. In our work, we have used Deming's 14 Points, Senge's systems thinking, and the total quality management philosophy.


Our Assessment Process includes the steps below:

Step 1:

Conduct an On-Site visit where we will interview key staff and gather data regarding:


  1. Goals and objectives
  2. Commodities purchased
  3. Volume of purchases
  4. Supply chain structure
  5. Inventory management
  6. Core supply management procedures
  7. Experience and training levels of key personnel
Step 2:

Analyze the information gathered and provide a written report that will provide the following:


  1. Assessment of your current supply chain and sourcing
  2. Suggestion on supply chain and sourcing improvements
  3. Improvements that are linked to potential cost savings
  4. Outline of an implementation plan
  5. Suggestion of developmental programs for staff
Step 3:

Discuss the report's findings with representatives of your organization.

As a result of the Assessment Process, we will provide you with the following deliverables:



Deliverable 1:

An objective review of your organization's supply management system.
Deliverable 2:

An assessment of your organization's supply management strategy, process, results, people, and goals.
Deliverable 3:

A report outlining your current situation and status, providing suggestions for improvement and implementation plan to help reduce costs.

Using a 6-step continuous improvement process and numerous quality tools, we analyze the procedures used in accomplishing subcontracting and purchasing functions. We evaluate the quantitative and qualitative aspects of purchasing results and determine gaps in performance. We establish work teams to accomplish targeted projects to meet higher-level goals based on benchmarked results.


Calyptus typically works as a facilitator or full team member in the project work, leaving the team leadership role to the client organization. We are proud of our track record in working with over 1,000 teams in purchasing improvements and can use its existing process in both Governmental and Commercial organizations.
